Billing Mode

Overview

Number segments of China Broadnet are supported, in addition to those of China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom. The billing mode is the same as that of the Chinese mainland SMS service.

  • You are billed based on the number of SMSs sent. If the number of characters in an SMS exceeds the length limit, the platform splits the SMS into multiple short messages. For details about how to calculate the number of SMSs, see SMS Content Length Calculation.
  • For details about the prices, see Pricing Details.

International SMS

Pay-per-use mode and SMS package

  • If you have purchased an SMS package, the international SMS package quota will be deducted first. If the quota is used up, you will be billed on a pay-per-use basis. If you have not purchased an SMS package, you will be billed on a pay-per-use basis based on the SMS price of the target country.
  • Currently, only SMS packages for sending SMSs to the following countries are available: Indonesia, Thailand, India, and Philippines. For prices of sending SMSs to countries that are not included in the package, see Pay-per-Use Billing.
  • Verification code and notification SMSs are charged in the same way.
  • You are billed for sending SMSs by calling APIs or using Group SMS Assistant.
  • You are not billed for SMSs whose status parameter or status code is a Huawei platform error code.

View all SMS Status Error Codes. (SMSs with status error codes from the Huawei platform are not charged.)

Chinese Mainland SMS

Pay-per-use mode

  • For details, see Pay-per-Use Billing.
  • Verification code and notification SMSs are charged in the same way.
  • You are billed only for SMSs that are successfully sent.

Account Usage

  • Message & SMS is a prepaid service. Top up your Huawei Cloud account to use it.
  • An SMS package is bound to one account and cannot be used by different accounts.

Expiration and Overdue Payment

If your Huawei Cloud account is in arrears, the cloud service platform provides a retention period. For details about the retention duration and processing rules, see Service Suspension and Resource Release. If you do not renew your subscription when the retention period ends, your Huawei Cloud account will be frozen and you cannot use Message & SMS or the remaining quota of SMS package. If your account is in arrears, top up your account. To send Chinese mainland SMSs, activate your signature on the Signature Management page of the console.
