Enabling CTS

Updated at: Dec 04, 2018 GMT+08:00

Scenarios

You need to enable CTS before using it. A tracker will be automatically created after CTS is enabled. All traces recorded by CTS are associated with the tracker. Currently, only one tracker can be created for each account.

This section describes how to enable CTS.

Associated Services

  • OBS

OBS allows you to permanently store operation records. For information about the service usage and charging standards, see Object Storage Service Documentation.

    NOTE:

You must select a standard OBS bucket because CTS needs to frequently access the OBS bucket that stores traces.

  • DEW

DEW provides keys to encrypt trace files. For information about the service usage and charging standards, see Data Encryption Workshop Documentation.

  • SMN

When key operations are detected, SMN sends email or SMS message notifications to users. For information about the service usage and charging standards, see Simple Message Notification Documentation.

Prerequisites

For how to enable OBS, see section Logging In to OBS Console in the Object Storage Service Console Operation Guide.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region and project.
  3. Click Service List and choose Management & Deployment > Cloud Trace Service.
  4. Click Tracker in the left pane.
  5. Click Enable CTS.
  6. On the displayed page, click Enable to enable CTS.

A tracker is automatically created. If you enable Apply to All Regions, trackers are synchronously created under all regions of the current site to improve integrity and accuracy of your audit logs.

  7. Click Configure in the Operation column to set OBS Bucket and File Prefix. Table 1 lists the parameters to be specified.
