What Is Elastic Load Balance?

Updated at: 2018-11-24 18:06

Elastic Load Balance (ELB) automatically distributes incoming traffic across multiple backend servers based on configured forwarding policies. ELB enables you to achieve higher levels of fault tolerance and improves the service capabilities of your applications.

You can create a load balancer, configure a listening protocol and port, and add backend servers to a load balancer. You can also check the running state of backend servers to ensure that requests are sent only to healthy servers.
